Half a cup of powdered sugar

1/4 tsp powdered cardamom

A little sprinkle of optional saffron strands

Chopped nuts (almonds or pistachios) for garnish

If you don't have fresh paneer, you can make it at home by curdling milk and separating the curds from the whey.

Knead the Paneer:

Take the fresh paneer in a large bowl and knead it well until it becomes smooth and soft.

Add Sugar:

Add the powdered sugar to the paneer and continue to knead until the sugar is well incorporated.

Flavoring:

Add cardamom powder to the mixture for flavor. If you like, you can also add saffron strands to give a nice aroma and color to the Sandesh.

Shape the Sandesh:

Take small portions of the mixture and shape them into small discs or your desired shape.

Steam the Sandesh:

Place the shaped Sandesh on a greased steamer plate. Steam them for about 10-15 minutes until they are cooked through.
